From cozy cafes to fine dining, there’s plenty of great restaurants to choose from in San Miguel de Allende. Because this city has been a favorite retreat for Mexicans and international expats, the choices are endless. Deciding where to eat in San Miguel can be difficult, but we’ve listed our seven favorite restaurants when visiting this beautiful city:
If you are looking for a filling and flavorful Mexican breakfast, then Inside Café is for you. Choose from a variety of protein-packed breakfast options paired with their custom coffee blend or specialty juices. All their jams are made in house, and there are also gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options. Inside Café is open Monday through Friday and Wifi is available.
Nectar is the perfect little coffee shop that also sells unique and incredible items promoting love for the environment. Sandwiches and pastries are served along with a variety of coffee or cocoa drinks. Stop in for breakfast, lunch or tea service for a relaxing get-together with friends.
Nicasio Comedor Mexicano creates traditional Mexican cuisine with a modern interpretation. This is a perfect restaurant for both omnivores and vegetarians. The menu changes frequently based on seasonal availability. Because this restaurant is small, reservations are recommended.
For fine-dining, Aperi is our #1 choice. Extraordinary dishes are prepared with local and coastal ingredients demonstrating a combination of Italian, French and Mexican techniques. Dishes can be ordered A La Carte, but we highly recommend the tasting menu offered for lunch or dinner.
Enjoy spectacular views over San Miguel de Allende from Casa Nostra’s rooftop terrace as you sample the freshest in International cuisine. Cosa Nostra is a great choice for a couple’s night out or group get-together as there is something on the menu for everyone. Choose from tapas, seafood, steaks and pastas with a creative cocktail or a glass of wine while watching the sunset over San Miguel de Allende.
Located just two blocks from downtown, this restaurant is on the rooftop terrace of the hotel El Palomar. It offers a truly fantastic view of San Miguel de Allende with artistic international fare. We recommend trying the Carpaccio de Res with one of San Miguel’s local craft beers.
If you love seafood, Mi Bistro 300 is the place for you. Seafood specialties include ceviches, tiraditos, and a variety of tacos and tostadas. Beef lovers also have choices with tacos and burgers. Enjoy colorful cocktails and a relaxing environment all day at My Bistro 300.
